Up for sale is this fabulous Rolex Submariner 14060m (complete with box and papers).

Caught in the middle of a transitional period, the ref. 14060 encapsulates the best of both vintage and modern elements of the Submariner lineage. That’s just one of the many reasons this reference is so loved by enthusiasts, and often recognized as the last of its kind before the Submariner line went through a major face-lift.

Due to its simplicity, and de-cluttered aesthetic, it is the "2-liner" variation in particular that has emerged as one of the most sought-after Submariner references among discerning collectors.

THE STORY BEHIND THIS WATCH

Interestingly, this specific example belonged to a Royal Canadian Navy Officer, and was purchased in Australia during his foreign exchange service. It was worn, and appreciated in the way the best tool watches were meant to be. Along for the ride on many adventures, this watch was diligently cared for while accompanying this Royal Canadian Navy Officer as he served in Australia, the USA, UK, and New Zealand.

Here are some insights directly from the owner himself, describing what led him to ultimately purchase this specific Submariner:

"The two things that really appealed to me were the “2 liner” designation and proportions. I've always liked clean dials and this to me is the epitome of that. No bells and whistles, no complications and no rehaut engraving etc. The only other options were the 4-liner version of the same watch, the cyclops, or the new maxi-dial subs with chunkier sizing, all of which didn't appeal to me in the same way.

As many Rolex enthusiasts know, the COSC certified 14060m's came in two versions: a 4 liner, and a more simpler 2 liner. So this was just one more detail that made this Submariner particularly special, in addition to the the fact that the 2-liners ceased being produced sometime in the late 2000's, making them somewhat collectible."

CONDITION REPORT & SERVICE HISTORY

This is an absolutely stunning package...the kind collectors dream of. Originally sold new in Germany in 2005/2007, and then again purchased by it's most recent owner while serving in the Royal Canadian Navy in Australia, this watch and its accoutrement have been well cared for over the years.

The owner had the watch serviced with a Rolex AD in 2018, and is running great. Case and bracelet showing honest signs of previous wear with no major distractions. There is one very small nick on the edge of the lower left lug. The watch presents clean, and maintains it's brushed finish.

Included in the package is the original box (inner and outer), punched papers, service paperwork, original guarantee book, green calendar card, and micro-fiber cleaning cloth.
