DESCRIPTION

For the vintage dive watch enthusiast, the Sea-Dweller 1665 stands as one of the greats. Originally developed in collaboration with COMEX for deep-sea saturation divers, the Sea-Dweller took the Submariner’s DNA and made it tougher, more capable, and more niche. Unlike earlier “Double Red” variants, this 1981 "Great White" with a 676xxxx serial, is from the final years of the 1665 before it was phased out, marking the end of the matte dial era for the Sea-Dweller.

This particular example features a stunning all original dial with beautifully aged creamy lume across the hour markers and hands—offering exceptional patina without compromise. Add to that a matching "F" series 93150 bracelet, correctly dated to 1981, and you’ve got yourself a truly premium collector’s piece.

CONDITION

• Case: 40mm stainless steel case is in impeccabple condition with thick, well-preserved lugs and only minor signs of honest previous wear. Brushed finish, and beveled edges on lugs are crisp and pronounced. The 676xxxx serial dates this watch to 1981. 

• Bezel: Original black insert in excellent condition, with a sharp and clean stainless outer ring

• Dial/Hands: All-original matte Mark 3 dial with even, creamy lume; matching hands with warm patina.

• Caseback: Original, with signs of honest wear

• Movement: Original Rolex 1570 automatic movement, recently serviced and running at +1s/day

• Bracelet: Rolex 93150 bracelet with 585 end links, minimal stretch, clasp marked 'F' for 1981, fits up to a 7.6” wrist

• Crystal: Acrylic, clear and clean with no distractions

• Accessories: Watch only – no box or papers
