The Rolex GMT Master 1675, is a true iconic reference from the Rolex catalogue, and this particular example from 1970 is a stunning representation of the model's enduring appeal. Originally introduced in 1955, the Rolex GMT Master was designed in collaboration with Pan American World Airways to meet the needs of professional pilots and frequent travellers. Its innovative design included a rotating 24-hour bezel and an additional GMT hand, allowing wearers to simultaneously track two time zones, a groundbreaking feature at the time. The bi-directional bezel, paired with the red GMT hand, enables the user to easily adjust and read a second time zone, making it an indispensable tool for globetrotters and aviation professionals alike.

THE DETAILS

Case: 40 mm stainless steel case showing honest signs of previous wear, we did not polish the watch in order to keep it as original as possible. The lugs are nice and thick, with pronounced beveled edges.

Bezel: GMT bezel showing light signs of previous wear

Dial/Hands: Original Rolex matte dial in attractive and original condition with matching eggshell patina on both the hands and dial markers

Caseback: Original stainless steel in attractive condition

Movement & Service History: Original Rolex automatic winding movement which has been serviced by our watchmaker and is currently running +3 seconds per day

Bracelet/Strap: Oyster steel bracelet, reference is 7836 with 380 end-links. The watch will fit an 7.8 inch wrist. The bracelet shows honest signs of wear on the links and clasp, and has lost some tightness over time, as to be expected from a bracelet of this vintage. We have not polished the bracelet and have left it unrestored in order to keep it as original as possible.
