The intense white dial of the 1908 is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, displaying a subtle graining effect that lends texture and depth. Designed entirely in-house, Rolex dials are celebrated for their impeccable quality, utilizing innovative techniques such as magnetron sputtering for precision coloring. The dial is adorned with a sans-serif font for the 12, 3, and 9 markers, while the subdial at 6 o’clock showcases ornate detailing, merging Art Deco influences with modern aesthetics. The observatory-style hour hand is a nod to the vintage design language of the early 20th century.

Inside, the new Rolex caliber 7140 movement introduces a groundbreaking pairing of the Syloxi silicon hairspring with the Chronergy escapement, a first for the brand. This automatic movement boasts a 66-hour power reserve and Superlative Chronometer certification, ensuring both precision and durability. A sapphire caseback (a extremely rare detail for Rolex watches) offers a rare view of the Côtes de Genève Rolex finishing, a testament to the brand’s meticulous engineering. The watch is completed with an alligator strap featuring the Dualclasp system for comfort and security, along with a signature green lining for a discreet touch of Rolex flair. CONDITION REPORT

Only purchased last May, this watch is in truly excellent condition with no major scratches or dings to speak of. There is minimal wear as expected with light use (ie. some barely visible hairline scratches on the case and buckle), but appears to have been worn very carefully only a few times. The alligator strap is also in excellent, nearly new condition, with only minimal warping
