Omega De Ville Co-Axial Limited Edition, White Gold (box & papers)

Today, the Co-Axial escapement is present in nearly all of Omega's collections - even the stubborn Speedmaster Professional has recently joined the club. And this white gold De Ville, limited to just 999 pieces, was the very first!

This remarkable Omega De Ville marks the introduction of the very first commercially produced Co-Axial escapement. First invented by George Daniels in 1974, a man widely known as one of the greatest watchmakers of the 20th century, the Co-Axial escapement was designed to circumvent problematic friction points that existed in  lever escapements, the predominant escapement until that point. 

Beating at a blistering 28,800 vibrations per hour, the Calibre 2500 is technically a hi-beat movement, at least according to slightly older watchmaking standards, and it is the very first of several iterations of the co axial escapement.

Today, the Co-Axial escapement is present in nearly the entirety of Omega's collections (aside from the Speedmaster Professional) and this white gold De Ville, limited to just 999 pieces, was the very first!

Adding to the prestige of this watch is its stunning polished 18 k white gold case and bezel. There are only 999 of these watches in existence, and today, we are honoured to be able to offer one of them to you, as part of a complete package, including original box and papers.

CONDITION

With minimal wear (refer to pictures), this watch is in excellent condition for its age. In certain light, soft surface scuffs can be seen on the lower part of the bezel, and there are some scratches on the under-part of one of the lugs from a strap changing tool.
