Founded by Finnish watchmaker Torsti Laine, a graduate of the Finnish School of Watchmaking with experience at A. Lange & Söhne in Germany and Voutilainen in Switzerland, Laine Watches is renowned for its bespoke creations handcrafted in Le Locle, Switzerland.

This particular Gelidus 3 features an ivory white matte dial adorned with a center guilloché pattern, meticulously hand-turned to create a captivating visual effect. The heat-blued sword hands harmonize elegantly with the blue Breguet-style Arabic numerals, offering a timeless and sophisticated appearance.

Powering this timepiece is the manually wound LA18.1 movement, distinguished by its ornate floral engraving. This movement, based on the Unitas 6498-1, has been extensively modified in-house, showcasing unique components and hand-polished finishes, including beveled edges and black-polished screws. It offers a 50-hour power reserve and operates at a beat rate of 18,000 vibrations per hour (bph).

The 40.5mm stainless steel case strikes a balance between presence and wearability, with a thickness of 11.3mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 49.5mm. The case features a mix of polished and brushed finishes, with scalloped lugs adding a subtle design flair.

CONDITION

• Case: Excellent condition with minimal signs of wear. Minor surface scuffs on the lugs and case sides, consistent with light use.
• Strap: Fitted with a replacement blue alligator IWC strap in good condition, showing light wear. Two additional notches have been added to accommodate a 6.5”–6.75” wrist.
• Buckle: Includes the original signed buckle.
