To great fanfare, Seiko has revived this iconic King Seiko, the second generation "KSK", first introduced in 1965. As part of Seiko's 140 year anniversary, Seiko brought back their King Seiko sub-brand from its many years in hibernation, and it's absolutely stunning.
Staying true to its roots, this re-make is nearly identical to the original, with just a slightly larger case size, measuring in at a still-compact diameter of exactly 38.1mm.
The case shape, also true to the original, is truly what sets this beautiful watch apart. The angular nature of the prominent lugs appoints the watch on sturdy footing, and a strong presence on the wrist. The case enjoys the famous zaratsu technique typically reserved for higher-end Grand Seiko watches.
Other stand out features are the signed buckle, and crown (along with a "W" to indicate water resistance), and finally the beautiful caseback which is decorated with a beautiful embossed gold medallion.
The watch runs on a self-winding caliber 6L35 with a date function, which happens to be the only significant departure from the original watch (a manual-wind with no date).
The example we are offering here is completely unworn (the strap hasn’t even been fastened). It is priced to sell (this exact watch sells for $4,450 CAD / $3,300 USD). So this is quite a steal, given that the watch is essentially untouched.
