Introducing the ultra-rare Czapek & Cie Quai Des Bergues Emerald Green S. This watch is a stunningly executed masterpiece that uses a technique called ‘Flinqué’ to create its outstanding dial finish.
THE DIAL
The technique is the result of geometric patterns being stamped onto the dial, which is initially engraved using the guilloché method, and then combined with enamelling. The original Flinque pattern was so distinctive that it gave this specific technique its name, but today, there are a variety of patterns that have been applied using the traditional ‘flinqué’ technique.
Czapek collaborated with Metalem to recreate their own exclusive ‘Ricochet®’ design, inspired by the ripples from a stone skipping on a lake, using a special stamping tool. After stamping the design onto a silver plate, an intense ‘moiré’ enamel is applied by Donzé Cadran. The piece is then fired in a kiln multiple times until the perfect hue is achieved. This meticulous process ensures a stunning, one-of-a-kind timepiece for your collection.
THE CASE
The Quai des Bergues collection, featuring both L and S shaped cases, was named as a tribute to the spot where François Czapaek established the company in Geneva in 1845. Their cases are crafted to blend the classic elegance of a pocket watch with the comfort of a wristwatch. The generously smooth, rounded shape and graceful curves embody the pure essence of the brand.
The Quai des Bergues Emerald Green S showcases their unique ‘Revolution’ case, which features a stunning full polished finish.
THE MOVEMENT
The SXH1 caliber, created by Czapek, is a standout proprietary movement, marking the beginning of a specialized series designed for their watches. Crafted in collaboration with Chronode from Le Locle, this manual movement boasts dual barrel springs for a robust 7-day power reserve and operates at a steady 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hertz). Its design includes an annular balance wheel with variable inertia weights and a Breguet terminal curve balance spring. The skeletonized and streamlined balance cock enhances visibility, staying true to the original 1850 design with modern flair. The symmetrical architecture and sandblasted finish offer a contemporary take on the classic ‘satiné frost’ technique from the 19th century.
UNIQUE POWER RESERVE INDICATOR
This watch features an impressive one-week (7-day) power reserve, showcased by a unique indicator on the front of the dial. The prominent sub-dial displays the reserve numerically on one side, and the days of the week on the other. As the reserve depletes you can track the days of the week, before you have to power up again.

CONDITION & WARRANTY
This watch is in excellent condition only having been worn a handful of times. Aside from some light surface blemishing on the bezel (invisible in most light), there is virtually no other significant wear to speak of.
This watch comes as a complete set, including outer and inner wood box and papers, as well as the original warranty card, dated September 2023.
