The BVLGARI Octo Finissimo “Tuscan Copper” captures the warmth of Italian art and the precision of modern architecture in one of Bulgari's most striking executions of the Octo Finissimo. This example was sold new in June 2023 as part of the original North American limited edition of 50 pieces and comes as a complete set with box, satin carry pouch, and warranty card (valid through June 2028).

A NOTE FROM THE CURATOR

The Octo Finissimo is one of the defining designs of modern watchmaking, a seamless blend of architecture, sculpture, and horology. In the Tuscan Copper edition, Bulgari moved beyond the restrained palette of past Finissimo models, introducing a vivid copper-salmon toned dial inspired by 16th-century Italian Mannerism, a post-Renaissance art movement favouring complex compositions, elongated figures, and unconventional colours and spatial arrangements. 

Unlike the “vintage salmon” tones favoured by many Swiss brands, this hue, developed under Bulgari's Product Creation Executive Director, Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, feels resolutely contemporary and distinctly Italian, shimmering with warmth and modern energy. It’s housed in a 40mm case crafted from 904L stainless steel, defined by 58 sharp facets and an ultra-slim 6.4mm profile that remains water resistant to 100m, thanks to the introduction of a screw-down crown (with a black ceramic inlay).

Inside beats the BVL138 calibre, Bulgari’s in-house ultra-thin automatic movement, just 2.23 mm thick and powered by a platinum micro-rotor. It delivers a 60-hour power reserve and displays fine hand-finishing throughout, Côtes de Genève, chamfered bridges, and perlage visible through the sapphire caseback.

This particular example represents the first and rarest chapter of the Tuscan Copper’s story, part of the original 50 pieces produced before the model entered Bulgari’s permanent collection, making it a genuine collector’s piece that bridges design innovation and impressive technical specs.

CONDITION REPORT & CONTENTS

The watch is in excellent overall condition, showing some light surface wear from careful use. There is some fine surface scuffing on the case, bezel, a few of the bracelet links. There are subtle nicks on a few of the edges on the lower right side of the case. The case remains unpolished, clean, and radiant, preserving its crisp factory geometry and satin finishing.
